Takuma Sato and Playseats™ will this year offer race fans the ultimate gaming experience thanks to the launch of a unique version of the Playseats™ product which gives gamers the opportunity to create and enjoy a full race-simulator experience in the comfort of their homes.
The Takuma Sato Playseat will be exclusively marketed in Japan and on-line through our website www.playseats.biz and sites including www.playseats.co.jp and www.takumasato.com. The Super Aguri Formula One driver is also looking forward to helping Playseats™ develop future versions of its superb seat.
The Takuma Sato Playseat can be used in conjunction with all popular games consoles, steering wheel and pedal sets to give fans of racing games the professional simulator experience. At a time when more and more race drivers use games to practice for the real thing, Playseats™ provides the best technology to give gamers the ideal home solution.
“I am very pleased to work with Playseats™ and develop my own edition of the product,” confirmed Takuma Sato. “I first saw the Playseat at the Monaco Grand Prix last year and realise it brings games fans and drivers the opportunity to feel a realistic racing experience. With racing games becoming more and more realistic the Playseat certainly completes the experience.”
“It is great to have Takuma Sato come on board with Playseats™ and help us to develop his own version of our product,” said Dr Fernando Smit, founder and CEO of Playseats™. “When I first designed the Playseat I aimed to create the most professional racing seat for gamers; one with very high quality, good engineering and suitable for almost all consoles, steering wheels and pedal sets. I am confident that the Takuma Sato edition of the Playseat will prove popular with race fans and gamers in Japan, and help give them the ultimate simulator experience at home.”
Takuma Sato, 31, started racing in karts in 1996 and enjoyed a successful career in the lower formulae, culminating in winning the 2001 British Formula 3 Championship, the Marlboro Masters of Formula 3 in the Netherlands and the prestigious Macau Grand Prix, the FIA Formula 3 World Cup. He made his Formula One debut with Jordan Grand Prix in 2002, raced for the BAR-Honda team in 2004-05 and achieved a podium finish at the US Grand Prix, before joining Super Aguri in 2006.
All Playseats™ feature a unique, patented folding mechanism. The foldable seat is combined with a steel frame that is adjustable for both height and length to help gamers achieve the best driving position, and can be adapted to suit all popular games console, steering wheel and pedal sets.
